Eventually all central heating systems will produce a build up of iron oxide (black sludge) due to air in the system which severally reduces the efficiency of your radiator performance. Your radiators start to accumulate the sludge at the bottom which is why the radiators become cooler at the bottom.

The solution is to connect a power flushing machine to your system by removing one radiator and flushing cleaning solution through each of your radiators until all radiators and your boiler are thoroughly cleaned. When all the sludge is removed, inhibitor is then flushed through your system to help keep the system free of sludge.

Once your system has been flushed it will run as good as new for up to 5 years.

It is then recommended that your system be flushed again before any damage can occur to your system or boiler and reduce the performance and cost more in fuel bills.
